After getting knocked out of the FA Cup in the first round against Gillingham, Sunderland fans wanted to hear honesty from Phil Parkinson. The manager has only won two games in his first nine with the club (WhoScored.c0m).
After the game, Parkinson talked to Sunderland Twitter about the performance. He suggested that despite ‘giving it a good go’, Sunderland didn’t show enough technical ability when it mattered most. Sunderland fans reacted to the words of the manager. For the most part, they were left completely uninspired. All they see is a man who is fearing for his job.
Totally uninspiring

Shame another manager looks like he’s on the chopping block, but its becoming another PR and on pitch disaster already.

Has a very Howard Wilkinson feel to all this . We are sleepwalking out of cup competitions and down the league very soon .

Others insist that Parkinson is insulting their intelligence. They don’t believe that what they saw was the team ‘giving it a good go’. The supporters also question Parkinson’s excuses that he had to play a weakened side. Fans just want him to be honest and admit that it wasn’t good enough. They don’t care that he is only being here for a short period of time and many want him gone now.
An insult to our intelligence.

What do we think?
Is Parkinson can make a turn around in the league perhaps he will be able to win back the fans. He won’t have much time left before the supporters and owner Stuart Donald completely give up on him though. His record, unfortunately for him, speaks for itself.
