Sunderland beat Southend United 1-0 on the weekend, putting the team just three points behind third place with a game in hand. And, while his game-winning goal in the 20th minute will likely mean more to him, Luke O’Nien’s nutmeg on Nathan Ralph was quite something.
With the club losing against Oxford United in the Football League Cup last week, fans were willing to celebrate the small things. The meg was good, and fans didn’t hold back. These supporters loved the showboating, while one even requested that Ralph needed a taxi to get home.

Some fans wanted the neg to get onto Soccer AM. Let’s just hope Jimmy Bullard was checking his DMs.

What do we think?
The showboating from O’Nien was a nice bit of entertainment for the Sunderland faithful. Indeed, if the player can continue to help his team secure three points going forward, he can do all the showboating he wants in the eyes of Phil Parkinson.
