Phil Parkinson is racking up a record that he would care not to have. The manager lost yet another match in charge of Sunderland Football Club, making him winless in nine out of his 11 outings with the team (WhoScored.com).
With the team dropping out of cup competitions, and a promotion spot looking less and less in reach, Parkinson will be feeling the pressure from not just the board but the fans as well. While many supporters want the manager out, others agree that he was never the right person to bring in in the first place. To them, he was doomed from the start.

No one thought he was better before he even came in. Says a lot

Was Parkinson doomed from the start?
Yes
No
Other fans mock the signing, bringing up Parkinson’s past achievements. The sarcasm in their tweets suggests that they are not impressed with his resume.
But but kept colchester in the championship

You obviously haven’t seen his references

One fan believes that you can’t sack a manager every time he fails and believes the letting their last boss, Jack Ross, go was a mistake. He believes the Sunderland job is a position that nobody wants.
Ross had not lost the dressing room though. You can’t sack a manager every time the fans turn on him because these days that happens after every dropped point. Eventually nobody will come. That is where the club now is

What do we think?
Sunderland appear to be going through managers like new clothes. If they do keep Parkinson on for the foreseeable future he will be a lucky man. His record doesn’t warrant backing, but he might also be the only option they have.
