It was the same old story for Sunderland Football Club during their midweek match against Burton. Phil Parkinson’s side lost 2-1 at home. Despite taking the lead in the 19th minute after Aiden McGeady scored a penalty, Burton’s Ryan Edwards equalised less than a minute later. Parkinson’s team couldn’t pull it back and conceded a second to Liam Boyce in the 68th minute.

It was Parkinson’s sixth loss in 11 games since taking over in mid-October. It was also his fifth game in a row without a victory. With the manager only being able to achieve two wins in his time at the club, the fans have conceded to the fact that he is not the right choice. They want him out, now.

Is it time for Sunderland to move on from Parkinson?

Others can’t believe that he hasn’t been let go already, while others suggest that his comments after the game sound like a resignation speech. Some fans imply that Parkinson should be the bigger man and walk away.

What do we think?

Who knows what the right call is. There seems to be so much going wrong at Sunderland Football Club that changing managers wouldn’t be an absolute fix. Parkinson isn’t the only person who should be held accountable, however, what his team is producing isn’t good enough for the fans. It does seem, though, that his time at the club is coming to an end.
