Steven Gerrard spoke to the media ahead of Rangers’ return to league football this weekend. The interview covered a wide variety of topics, however, journalists couldn’t resist asking questions about Colombian international Alfredo Morelos.

The manager had nothing but positive things to say about his goal-scoring machine.

“Scoring goals is what he does. People forget he is still 22, he is box-office.” said Gerrard (Rangers).

The problem is, that isn’t true. Yes, he is box office; yes, scoring goals is what he does, but oddly enough, the one thing the manager got wrong was the player’s age. Morelos turned 23 in the summer and fans weren’t going to let the mistake slip. They had to correct the manager.

One fan was unconcerned with the harmless mistake made by the gaffer. He is just happy that his Buffalo is home, safe and sound.

What do we think?

While they are likely not that bothered about the small mistake made by Gerrard, fans probably wouldn’t be too concerned if Morelos knocked a year off of his age. The younger he is the more time he has to play at Rangers. And if he is leaving on a transfer soon, a younger age would mean a higher transfer fee. For now, they will just excited to watch him play at Ibrox.
