Alfredo Morelos will certainly be at the centre of attention after scoring a goal and assisting another as Rangers swiped Porto to the side in the UEFA Europa League. The Colombian has been on a hot streak in front of goal for almost a month.
But while the 23-year-old striker will get credited on the score sheet, there are many Rangers fans who are applauding their manager for his impact on the team. They suggest that Gerrard’s project at the Glaswegian club is special. He is bringing the fans back from a ‘dark’ place.
He is the man

Steven Gerrard really is building something special at Glasgow Rangers football club
Never seen the supporters so attached and showing emotion at the end like that after the game for a long long time
Well deserved but means nothing if we lose points Sunday or don’t qualify

Glorious. We’ve come a long way bears, from a really dark place. Long this may continue. Stevie G we love you.

One fan suggests that he and Morelos are the two greatest signings in the club’s history. Another suggests that Gerrard’s influence on Morelos has turned the player into the goal-scoring machine that he is today.
Gerrard and Morelos for me is the two greatest signings of our history

These supporters pointed out the manager’s incredible home record in Europe for Rangers, having gone 14 games unbeaten at home in continental games (despite one fan saying 15).
Remember that time Graeme Spiers said Steven Gerrard looked terrified at the task of the job making Rangers a force in Scotland let alone Europe. Tonight Stevie Gs Rangers just beat Porto 2-0 and haven’t lost in 15 European homes games with Gerrard in charge.

Under Steven Gerrard, Spartak Moscow, Villarreal, Legia Warsaw, Feyenoord, & now Porto. All have come to Ibrox, all have been sent home without even scoring a goal.

What do we think?
Gerrard’s influence at Rangers has resulted in the club challenging for their 55th league title and European glory. It is easy to understand why the fans at Ibrox love him so much.
