Newcastle fans on Twitter are not concerned with the latest injury update to Jamaal Lascelles.
This comes after Newcastle fan Twitter account @NUFC360 shared a post on their page including an article from Chronicle Live who announced the news that Lascelles will be out until New Year with a knee injury.
This tweet then led to a number of Newcastle fans replying with the views that Lascelles will not be a big miss to the team.
Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans not too worried about Lascelle’s injury update:
Unfortunate but luckily all of the other CBs are better

Not great news, but on the form of Clark, Schar and Fernandez, and with Lejeune returning, we should be OK #NUFC
— Dean Burns (@deanoburns) November 12, 2019
Bright side – #NUFC is by far the deepest at CB.
And if we being honest, Lascelles probably isn’t one of the three best CBs on the squad.

The Englishman suffered the knee injury in Newcastle’s 2-1 win over Bournemouth earlier this month. Lascelles was replaced by Paul Dummett 20 minutes into the match after picking up the injury.
One of a few areas that we have genuine depth though.

He’s our fourth best CB, it’s no drama at all.

Don’t think he’ll be a miss tbh. Lejeune, Fernandez, Schar all better defenders
— Kris. (@karcher_nufc) November 12, 2019
Not bad news either. He’s rotten
— Stu Renton (@lRodneyTrotterl) November 12, 2019
Best News we have had in a long time and just when Lejuene coming back too
— Mark Vasey (@Delvaseyo) November 12, 2019
What do we think?
While it is a shame to see Lascelles out with injury for a couple of months, it’s good to see that there are some Newcastle fans that are confident in the abilities of their other defenders. One example of the Magpies’ standout defenders this season is Swiss international Fabian Schar. In 795 minutes of Premier League football, Schar has totalled an average of 5.1 clearances per game, earning himself an overall match rating of 6.97 (per WhoScored).
