Some Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to criticise Rolando Aarons.
This flurry of criticism came after the official Newcastle Twitter account shared a post wishing Aarons a happy birthday after he turned 24 today.
This post then led to a number of Magpies fans slating the winger for his performances for the club in the past.
Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans commenting on Aarons:
Better then Almiron

The winger is currently on loan at League One side Wycombe Wanderers (per Transfermarkt) where he has made nine appearances, scoring two goals along the way. Aarons has been at Newcastle since 2012 but has been involved in several loan deals at different clubs. Since the 2014/15 season, Aarons has suffered six different injuries that have seen him miss a total of 93 games for the club (per Transfermarkt).
What do we think?
It seems a bit unfair that some Newcastle fans have criticised Aarons on his birthday. It’s also unfair that some of the criticism centre around his injuries that aren’t in his control. Aarons current loan deal at Wycombe runs out in January 2020, but it would take something special for him to force his way into Steve Bruce’s plans as making the step up from League One to the Premier League would be far from easy.
