Some Newcastle fans have been reacting to Steve Bruce’s remarks on Twitter after Monday’s 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa.
This comes after the official Newcastle Twitter account shared a post on their page of Bruce’s post-match interview reflecting on the defeat.
The Magpies boss blamed his team’s first-half performance for the defeat claiming they were too “passive”.
This post then led to a number of Newcastle fans ripping into their side.
Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans wanting Bruce to get sacked:

Newcastle fell to their sixth defeat of the season at Villa Park, meaning they now sit in 14th place in the Premier League table. Bruce’s comments at the end of the match did not go down well with some Newcastle fans who were already displeased with what they saw from their team on the pitch.
This bloke would take a helium balloon down, for once we have a really exciting front line, shame they are 100miles away from the midfielders

terrible to watch. very poor, toothless, no creativity at all and waited too long to bring Carroll on. We look more of a threat the moment he is on the https://t.co/uSKU2OYRGc needs a shake up big time !
Miggy and Joe need to be dropped, Longstsff back in for Hayden too— Chris Oliver (@chrisole87) November 26, 2019
Once again Sports Direct fc looking totally clueless, huge gaps between defence and attack yet again, no positive play at all, second best throughout against a newly promoted side…SJP attendances will fall even more after this sham!

What do we think?
The performance from Newcastle on Monday was poor, particularly in the first half, so it comes as no surprise that some Newcastle fans are not happy with the team or the manager.
Of course, results aren’t going the way of the Magpies at this moment in time so it’s natural for fans to want change as the risk of fighting near the bottom looms if things don’t improve. But, it’s unlikely that the Magpies will make any decisions at this point with the Englishman still only a couple of months into his tenure.
