Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to express their opinions on the latest update on Raheem Sterling and Joe Gomez’s England bust-up.
This comes after Liverpool journalist James Pearce shared a post on his official Twitter page that included an article from The Athletic about the duo’s clash.
This tweet was captioned with a quote from the article saying the bust-up was “pretty full-on and food went everywhere”.
This post then gathered a number of replies from Liverpool fans who were quick to slate Sterling for his actions towards the Reds defender.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans criticising Sterling:
So worse than we first realised

Sterling is an immature child

What a sure looser! Bad form from sterling and Gomez showing more maturity which is great news for LFC.

Anyone else surprise that the “role model” showed his temper again?

This clash was first reported earlier in the week while the pair were training for England’s upcoming Euro 2020 qualifying match against Montenegro on Thursday. It was then later announced by England boss Gareth Southgate that Sterling would play no part in Today’s match (BBC Sport).
And, this latest update from Pearce has then resulted in Sterling getting more stick from Liverpool fans who have been calling for further punishment.
Sterling tried to get Gomez in a headlock but only managed a cheek-lock because his arms are so short

Oh dear how childish!

Sterling demonstrating that he is a deplorable human being.
Wasting food and showing no respect to the billions of starving children around the planet.
We must not let this drop, he must be punished.

What do we think?
While this latest update on the clash has shed some light on the specifics on the situation, it has done nothing to help die down the abuse Sterling was already getting when the story first dropped.
But the positive is that this matter has seemed to have been put to bed between the two players after Sterling shared a statement on the issue on his Instagram.
