Some Liverpool fans have shared their appreciation for Daniel Sturridge after the former Reds striker revealed the love he still has for the fans and club.
This show of affection for Sturridge comes after Liverpool fan account @AnfieldWatch shared a post containing the striker’s quotes, as well as a video of one of Sturridge’s best goals for the Merseyside club.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans eager to return the affection shown by Sturridge.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans praising Sturridge:
Didn’t fail for us at all, he won a CL medal deservedly so for all his work, that season with Sterling & Suarez was breathtaking. If he wasn’t made of Weetabix he’d still be at the club

Such a shame with the injuries for him. When fit and on form I rate him as one of England’s best finishers. He can score all types of goals.

What do we think?
Despite suffering multiple injuries during his time at Liverpool, Sturridge was a significant player in the year they nearly won their first-ever Premier League. In the 2013/14 Premier League season, Sturridge scored 22 goals in 29 appearances averaging 2.28 points per game (per Transfermarkt).
The Englishman produced 68 goals and 26 games in 160 appearances for the club.
