Liverpool fans on Twitter are voicing their concerns over a potential in-game clash with James Milner and Crystal Palace’s Wilfred Zaha.
Jurgen Klopp’s side take on former Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson’s Palace team at the weekend. But with injury concerns surrounding first-choice left-back Andy Robertson, some Reds fans are worried Milner will play in that role instead.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans not excited to see Milner come up against Palace winger Zaha:
Saturday is going to be beautiful. Watching Jose return, Milner getting rinsed by Zaha and Tammy bang a hat trick against City

Alisson
Trent VVD Lovren Gomez
Hendo Fabinho Gini
Ox Bobby Mane
What I’d like to see if Mo and Robbo don’t make it.
Milner on Zaha would be a car crash.
Klopp likely to opt for Origi but I’d put Ox in #LFC— Myles Doran (@1MylesDoran) November 22, 2019
It’s just dawned on me that if Robbo is out on Saturday, it’s going to be Milner up against Zaha again

This potential match-up could see Milner try and defend against Palace’s star man who has played seven out of his 12 Premier League appearances this season as a right-winger (per TransferMarkt).
This potential situation has not filled many Liverpool fans with confidence for the match.
Zaha is skinning Milner and winning a pen 100%

Zaha vs Milner does not sound good https://t.co/GveuPVIEn9

Having one of the full backs out injured was always going to happen during the season and I know Gomez hasn’t been himself lately, but you simply can’t put Milner against Zaha.. Especially not away from home.

What do we think?
Given what a standout performer Robertson has been for Liverpool this season, it’s understandable why some Liverpool fans would be concerned if he does not play against Palace on Saturday. Especially if Klopp has to rely on Milner to contain the dangerous Zaha for 90 minutes.
In 12 Premier League appearances for the Reds this season, Robertson has earned himself an average match rating of 7.3 according to WhoScored. And, Milner endured a torrid time last season against Zaha as the winger ran him ragged and ended up getting the Liverpool man sent off, so no wonder fans are concerned.
