Liverpool fans have been pleading on Twitter for Adam Lallana to replace the injured Fabinho for their next game against Brighton.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @AnfieldEdition shared a post on their page asking their followers who out of Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Lallana should replace the injured Fabinho in midfield.
This then led to some Liverpool fans calling for Lallana to be a given a rare starting chance.
Should Adam Lallana take Fabinho's place against Brighton?
Yes
No
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans wanting Lallana to play against Brighton at the weekend:
Lallana is the only option

Lallana, best suited at DM

Unpopular opinion but it might be better for us to replace Fabinho with Lallana rather than pushing Gini back.

The Englishman has made just eight appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side so far this season in all competitions. In those eight appearances, the 31-year-old has only managed to score one goal and grab one assist (per Transfermarkt).
Despite this muddling record, some Liverpool fans still think Lallana is a suitable replacement to fill in for Fabinho in the holding midfield role.
So Dejan is actually playing pretty decent, imagine, just imagine, Lallana steps in for Fabinho and shows us something

Good job Liverpool have given Lallana a crash course in the number 6 role…
Don’t want to tempt fate, but as busy as Liverpool’s December is, the games are largely quite kind (until Boxing Day) so hopefully they can cope without Fabinho #lfc— Dane (@Dane_histo) November 29, 2019
So, the question with Fabinho out is: is Prime Iniesta Busquets Adam Lallana gonna be the #6 in our playing 11 throughout December?
Or does Hendo/Gini step in?
Can’t believe I’m saying this, but I would prefer the former.— Ajay Sreekumar (@SilentKumar96) November 29, 2019
What do we think?
If Klopp thinks Lallana is the answer to Fabinho’s injury worry, then this weekend’s showdown with Brighton offers the perfect opportunity for the Englishman to prove he can do it.
Of course, Lallana is the only real defensive-minded option for the Reds in the middle of midfield, as the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita look to get forward and make things happen. Milner could step into the position but he is better suited in a free roam role as he looks to get up and down the field, opposed to just sitting and controlling play in front of the Reds’ defence.
