These Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to share their criticisms on former Reds midfielder Joe Allen.

This sudden burst of negativity came after Liverpool fan Twitter account @AnfieldEdition shared a post on their page asking their followers what they thought of Allen’s time at the club.

This post then gathered many replies from Liverpool fans who were quick to share their criticisms for the midfielder.

Here’s a sample of negative responses from Liverpool fans on Allen:

The Welshman signed for Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool side back in 2012 from Swansea for a fee of £17.1 million. The now 29-year-old spent four years at the Merseyside club before being moved on to Stoke City in 2016 for a fee of £13.95 million (per Transfermarkt).

What do we think?

In Allen’s 132 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions, he only managed to score seven goals and grabbed five assists (per Transfermarkt). With this poor record, it’s clear to see why some Liverpool fans have not reflected on his time at Anfield favourably.

Maybe he was just not ready to make the move to a big club as a 22-year-old from Swansea.
