These Liverpool fans have been singing the praises of Georginio Wijnaldum on the anniversary of the midfielder’s first goal for the club.
This comes after the official Liverpool Twitter account shared a video of the Dutchman’s first-ever goal for the Merseyside club he scored back in 2016.
This post then led to some Liverpool fans showing their appreciation for the 28-year-old.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans showing love to Wijnaldum:

Wijnaldum’s first goal for Liverpool came in the 6-1 thrashing of Watford at Anfield in 2016. Since joining the Merseyside club from Newcastle in 2016, the midfielder has made 156 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions, scoring 15 goals and making 16 assists (per Transfermarkt).
The anniversary of Wijnaldum’s first goal for the club has given some Liverpool fans the perfect opportunity to show how much they appreciate the player.
We got a proper player when we signed Gini, most of us just didn’t know yet

What do we think?
Wijnaldum has been a fantastic addition to Liverpool, but even before his move to Merseyside, he was one of Newcastle’s star figures. His four-goal thriller in Newcastle’s 6-2 win over Norwich in 2015 was his best moment for the club before his move away. But his move to Liverpool has proved to be beneficial after being crowned European Champions in last season’s 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final in Madrid.
These supportive tweets go to show much much of a fan-favourite Wijnaldum has become at Anfield.
