Leeds United’s official Twitter account posted an injury update, which caused a mixed reaction with the fans, as some were calling for fresh legs to get a start against Blackburn Rovers at the weekend.
The tweet included updates about Barry Douglas, Jamie Shackleton and Ezgjan Alioski. Some of the fans are hoping that Leif Davis will get his chance against Blackburn on Saturday, which isn’t a terrible idea given that Leeds appear to have several injuries to deal with at the moment.
Davis has played just 12 minutes in the Championship this season, however, the 19-year-old impressed in the last game against QPR, managing to achieve a WhoScored rating of 6.7/10 despite only playing eight minutes.
“Douglas will be available, but Alioski won’t. Jamie Shackleton has a muscular problem, but a different injury to before. He’s not going to be available this weekend.” pic.twitter.com/zQv8ETd4IL

Douglas or Davis? DAVIS all day long. #LUFC

Leif Davis is better than Douglas. Pass it on

I agree with Dan, put Davis at left back, far more pace than Douglas and better recovery when caught out.

A couple of the fans were also happy to see Douglas returning, the 30-year-old has played 333 minutes this season, so he too will be hoping to start on Saturday.
It will be good to get @barrydouglas03 back. Hopefully when the other lads recover, we dont have many serious injuries or suspensions for the rest of the season. #MOT

What Do We Think?
At just 19-years-old, for Davis to be getting this much attention is astonishing. The young defender has only played 12 minutes, which makes you wonder what he could become if getting more game time?
Hopefully, because players are returning to fitness, the 19-year-old will get at least a couple more minutes off the bench, however, these Leeds fans might be unhappy if the young man isn’t starting.
