These Leeds United fans believe it was unfair of Marcelo Bielsa to drop Helder Costa for the Luton Town clash.

Costa had to settle for just 23 minutes off the bench when facing The Hatters, as he was replaced by Pablo Hernandez; a decision made by Marcelo Bielsa ahead of the clash. The gamble seems to have paid off for the Argentine manager though, with the Spaniard achieving a WhoScored rating of 7.6/10, which is much better than Costa’s 6.4/10.

Whilst hindsight can be a wonderful thing in football, fans did not appear to be fully with the idea of leaving the Portuguese winger out of the starting XI.

It’s, perhaps, hard to see why these Leeds fans would be upset about Costa not playing, with the 25-year-old only making one assist all season and has also failed to score in the 17 games he’s played.

What Do We Think?

Clearly, Costa hasn’t had a great season so far, which makes us feel like the dropping was definitely justified. Making just one assist and failing to score in 17 matches as a winger, is hardly the type of form that keeps your name as the first on the team sheet. However, with the festive period starting to kick-in, it would not be a surprise to see Bielsa turn to the Wolverhampton Wanderer’s loanee in the near future as they continue their quest for Premier League football.
