Leeds United: Fans unimpressed by Garry Monk’s behaviour

|

Leeds United fans were unimpressed with Sheffield Wednesday manager Garry Monk after he refused to shake the hand of Birmingham City boss Pep Clotet.

Monk was the Leeds manager for a total of 53 games during the 2016/17 season. Now in charge of Swansea City, the 40-year-old angered Peacocks fans with his lack of class, when refusing to shake the hand of Pep Clotet after each other’s sides drew 1-1.

Will this ruin future employment chances for Garry Monk?

Yes

No

All of these fans were quick to point just how classless it is to refuse a managers handshake, the match was a draw so it seems a reasonable thing to do anyway.

What Do We Think?

This was a childish move from Monk, which isn’t going to look good on his reputation going forward. Will it impact his chances of securing future roles? It’s unlikely to, but this might be a bump in the road or at least a tricky interview question for the 40-year-old. However, what is clear, is that plenty of the Leeds faithful don’t appear to be missing and why should they when they have Marcelo Bielsa in the dugout trying to get them to the Premier League.
