Fans enjoyed reliving current Barnsley player Alex Mowatt’s wonder strike when playing for Leeds United back in 2015.

Mowatt scored 12 goals for Leeds, scoring nine of them in the 2014/15. During that season he played 3055 minutes for the Peacocks, according to WhoScored. However, this season he has only managed the one goal in 13 league games for Barnsley.

Although the 24-year-old has been very consistent, with an average WhoScored rating of 6.91/10 and also managing to get four assists.

Mowatt left Leeds in January 2017 for £522k, the Englishman now has a Transfermarkt value of £1.08m.

What Do We Think?

Mowatt is still playing at a high level in the Championship, although with Leeds aiming for the Premier League this season, it’s unlikely he’ll be someone the club are looking at bring back anytime soon, especially with the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Mateusz Klich and Adam Forshaw all available in the middle and Pablo Hernandez and Ezgjan Alioski out wide (TransferMarkt).

Fans usually enjoy reminiscing over screamers or past players, but this was a nice to see the fans still supporting one of their former players even though he plays for a direct competitor.
