Chelsea fans have been singing the praises of Reece James on Twitter after his performance in Tuesday’s draw with Ajax.
This praise comes as a result of Chelsea fan account @TheBlues sharing a post on their Twitter page including a picture of the defender with the caption asking their followers how they would describe James.
This tweet then gathered a lot of replies with positive messages about the 19-year-old from some Chelsea fans.

The Englishman scored Chelsea’s fourth goal to equalise after being 4-1 down to last year’s Champion League semi-finalists at Stamford Bridge. His cameo on the pitch after coming on as a substitute for Marcos Alonso in the 46th minute earned him a match rating of 7.9 according to WhoScored.
His time on the pitch also earned him a lot of praise from Chelsea fans on social media.

What do we think?
As a 19-year-old defender, to come on as a substitute when your team is 3-1 down to a very strong opponent must have been daunting. But to not only put in the performance he did but also to score the crucial equaliser as well, James made himself the main hero of the night.
Maybe Tuesday’s heroics could put the teenager in contention for a starting place in Chelsea’s first team? James has already averaged a better pass success percentage (94.2%) than Marcos Alonso (82.1%) according to WhoScored.
