Some Chelsea fans have been expressing their delight with Kurt Zouma after a tackle he made on Crystal Palace’s Wilfred Zaha in their 2-0 victory over Roy Hodgson’s side.

This praise came after Chelsea fan Twitter account @TheBeardedRaul shared a post that contained a video clip of Zouma’s double tackle to snuff out an attacking move by Palace in the 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

This tweet then gathered a number of positive replies from Chelsea fans who were overjoyed by Zouma’s heroics.

Here’s a sample of Chelsea fans showing their appreciation for Zouma’s tackle:

Zouma played 90 minutes in the weekend win over Palace, with goals from Tammy Abraham and Christian Pulisic securing all three points for Chelsea (BBC Sport).

This amazing double tackle gave some Chelsea fans the opportunity to share their thoughts on how much Zouma has improved this season under manager Frank Lampard.

One fan even stated that Zouma sent Wilfried Zaha back to his Cardiff City days, in which he was regarded as a flop, starting just five games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the time.

What do we think?

To not only pull off a clean tackle on a running Wilfred Zaha from behind, to then make another tackle on the floor to further clear the ball was great to see. Not letting the 25-year-old go back out on loan seems to have been a successful move for Lampard given the injuries to Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

The Frenchman has made 18 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions so far this season (per Transfermarkt). According to WhoScored, Zouma has averaged a match rating of 6.93, which is the highest he has averaged in any Premier League season playing for Chelsea.
