Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to plead with their club to sign Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud in the upcoming January transfer window.
This comes after Villa new Twitter account @AVFC_News shared a post that contained an article from BirminghamMail on a potential move to Villa for the Frenchman, after Gazzetta dello Sport reported that the striker could be available for a cut-price fee.
The tweet was captioned by throwing the question over to Villa fans on whether they think the club should make the move for the World Cup winner.
This tweet then led to many Villa fans answering the question asked by the page.

100%. An experienced striker with an excellent goal record. Can’t see the argument against.

In this current Premier League season, Giroud has made just four appearances for Chelsea, without scoring a goal or making an assist (per Transfermarkt).
Some Villa fans see Giroud’s current situation as an opportunity to sign the striker in January.
Giroud is so underrated its unbelievable 10x times better than Wesley

Definitely premier league experience and knows we’re the goal is which is what we need. He could be the new John Terry signing but as a striker as he will improve those players around him. No brainier in my opinion

What do we think?
In his nine years playing in England, Giroud has proven himself to be a dangerous goal-scorer. In 224 Premier League appearances, the striker has scored 78 goals and made 32 assists (per Transfermarkt).
He could be exactly what Villa need, a player who can produce a consistent amount of goals.
