Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to heap praise on defensive duo Ezri Konsa and Frederic Guilbert after their performances in the recent win over Newcastle.
This comes after the official Villa Twitter account shared a post on their page asking their followers how impressive the pair played in Monday’s 2-0 win over Newcastle at Villa Park.
This post then gathered many replies from Villa fans eager to share the same sentiments on the duo.

Konsa and Guilbert both played 90 minutes in the victory against former Villa manager Steve Bruce’s Newcastle side, in which they managed to keep Newcastle’s front three of Miguel Almiron, Joelinton and Allan Saint-Maximin under control for the entirety of the game.
Of course, with a clean sheet in the bag, these Villa fans were pleased with what they saw from the defenders.

What do we think?
With Konsa at the age of 22, and Guilbert aged 24, both men could occupy the backline for Villa in years to come, as they seem to have already adapted to the Premier League.
But tougher tests will come for the pair in the Premier League. How they perform against the top clubs will prove just how good this duo can be for Villa this season, with Newcastle not exactly the most dangerous of sides.
