Fans of Wolverhampton Wanderers have reacted to the reported switch for James Rodriguez to join the Old Gold.
According to El Desmarque, Jorge Mendes has offered Real Madrid a potential deal that could seal the Colombian international’s arrival to Molineux (via The Sun).
However, the catch is that 22-year-old midfielder, Ruben Neves, would have to go in the opposite direction (per El Desmarque), which some Wolves supporters don’t seem interested in.
No, not for me. James best days are behind him whereas Neves so has the best infront of him

It was all going so well right up until the point I read Ruben’s name

NO

Yeah, I’d be massively shocked. For about ten reasons.

Wolves’ £45-million rated 22-year-old has played on 101 occasions for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, scoring 13 and assisting six in the process (per Transfermarkt).
Despite both players being valued at the same price, the Molineux faithful are not keen on the six-year age gap between the two players (via Transfermarkt).
With fans happy with what they already have in Neves, the deal was a write off as far as the supporters were concerned.

Not a chance. Nope no hell no! Ruben has bags of potential still and Rodriguez would be a great signing but not for Ruben. pic.twitter.com/swmiXENELd

What do we think?
It is without a doubt, James Rodriguez is a player of fantastic quality (via La Liga Analysis) that would be a coup for Wolves should the deal be pulled off.
However, Neves still has his best years ahead of him and is a player of immense quality, who should be held onto by the Old Gold for as long as possible.
If his exit is inevitable in the summer, though, the 28-year-old Colombian as a replacement plus cash would be a tidy switch for Espirito Santo.
