Fans of Wolverhampton Wanderers have labelled the defence as an area for improvement in the January transfer window.
The winter transfer window is quickly approaching, and with it the cogs of the rumour mill are beginning to turn as supporters look towards squad improvements.
With the question posed to the Molineux faithful about what position the club should be targeting (via Wolves Live), many believed that Nuno Espirito Santo should chase defensive improvements in the upcoming transfer window.

Defence…..But where can we find another Willy Boly and a replacement for Conor should he get hurt.

Gotta be defence for future injury backup, as playing midfielders in defence then shortens our options in midfield

Cb a must, box to box midfielder and striker/winger

Nuno Santo’s defence has looked thin on the ground for reinforcements recently, with star defender Willy Boly missing an extended period through a fractured left fibula (per Birmingham Mail).
In Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Aston Villa, Wolves had to deploy two defensive midfielders – Romain Saiss and Leander Dendoncker – at centre-back for the midlands derby (per Sky Sports).
With supporters concerned about the lack of cover should the Old Gold starting lineup suffer another injury, they spelt out their post-Christmas wishes.

What do we think?
When Boly returns from injury in some months’ time (per Wolves), the Molineux club’s defence will look in a much healthier state.
Wolves have the likes of Ryan Bennett, Max Kilman and Jesus Vallejo, but it appears as if Nuno Santo isn’t exactly confident in the trio, with Dendoncker and Saiss often getting the nod in the Premier League.
However, supporters are right to call out the lack of cover should more injuries occur within the Old Gold’s hectic winter fixture list (via Daily Mail), so a defensive reinforcement could be sensible.
