Wolverhampton Wanderers fans are delighted with Nuno Espirito Santo’s take on the link between him and Arsenal.
During his pre-match press conference for the Old Gold’s clash with Braga in the Europa League, Nuno discussed the link between himself and the Gunners, which Tim Spiers was on hand to relay (via Tim Spiers).
With the Portuguese boss playing down the rumours, essentially stating that they were “not a reality”, the Molineux faithful were delighted.
Nuno on Arsenal
“I think you know me well enough. You know I’m not going to answer about that. I’ll never mention an issue that’s not a reality.
“Speaking about a job as a manager would be disrespectful, I will not.”

Does Nuno Espirito Santo's quote rule out the rumours completely?
Yes
No
Wolves’ 45-year-old gaffer had been touted as a possible replacement for Unai Emery earlier in the week, with the Gunners’ Spaniard looking destined for the chop (as per BBC).
Arsenal sit three places behind the Old Gold in the Premier League table, with one less point and three fewer goal difference (as per BBC).
However, with the latest update coming from the gaffer himself amid the swirl of rumours, supporters were delighted to see cold water poured on the hot topic.
I mean ‘I’ll never mention an issue that’s not a reality’ is a positive right?

I don’t think he’s going anywhere yet, if he’s clever he’ll use any Arsenal interest to leverage an increase in salary and quite honestly, who wouldn’t, regardless of how much he currently earns for a job that he so clearly loves?

“I’ll never mention an issue that’s not a reality.” He’s not going anywhere! #Nuno #Wolves

What do we think?
Having secured promotion from the Championship, then Europa League qualification in their first season back in the Premier League, Nuno is two-and-a-half years into a plan at Wolves that would be difficult to walk away from.
While the quotes do not totally douse the rumours, on the Old Gold’s current trajectory, it would be a gargantuan task to pry the Portuguese manager from Molineux (as per Daily Mail).
