Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to secure Chem Campbell with his first professional contract, according to Football Insider.

Yesterday, the online football news website, Football Insider, revealed that the 16-year-old was set to sign his first senior contract with the Midlands club.

The plans are being put in place as the youngster turns 17 in late December and the club wants to sign the starlet up to a professional contract as soon as possible.

Competition for the youngster’s signature

The Old Gold has been eager to get the plans in place to tie the 16-year-old down to a long-term contract due to interest in the youngster from abroad.

In mid-October, it was revealed that three Bundesliga titans of Schalke, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund were circling for the youngsters signature (per Football Insider).

Should Wolves be able to secure Campbell’s signature once he turns 17, the Molineux club will have done well to fend off the interest from the German giants.

TiF Tactics – Will Campbell get a chance with Wolves?

Nuno Espirito Santo is a manager that is well-renowned for embracing youth and offering them first-team opportunities when the chance presents itself (as per Express and Star).

For example, in the club’s recent 2-1 away defeat to Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup, youth team players, including Campbell, were given the chance to shine (via Sky Sports).

Coupled with the fact that Wolves face a tricky winter period, with games coming thick and fast (per Daily Mail), there may be greater opportunities on the other side of Christmas – after Campbell will have the opportunity to sign – for young players to feature.

Having already made his first-team debut in the clash with Villa (via Transfermarkt), it is clear that the youngster is well thought of at Molineux and chances will be available should he sign the contract.
