Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have aired their disappointment for Adama Traore after the winger pulled out of the Spain squad.
On Sunday night, The Athletic journalist Tim Spiers shared a tweet which explained that the 23-year-old had to pull out of the Spain squad after picking up an injury against Aston Villa (as per @SeFutbol).
The wide man had only been called up to the national squad on Saturday as a replacement for Rodrigo (as per Marca), and supporters were gutted the Spaniard would be missing his chance to impress.

Poor chap. What a mixed bag of emotions he must have had this week. I hope he has time to recover now over the internationals.
any news on Raul?

During last week there was speculation that Traore had switched his national allegiances to Malian, to represent the African nation going forwards (via The Sun).
However, confusion was sparked when the 23-year-old was called up to the Spain squad on Saturday, which he reportedly accepted doing so (via BBC).
With a call up for Mail and Spain, discussion was rife surrounding the winger’s injury (via Express and Star).
Must be very minor, saw him interviewed after the game and no sign of anything major.

Or hes taking his time on deciding if its spain (mainly as a background player) or being the star of mali.

Seems like he’s not interested in playing for them tbh I don’t believe he’s injured

What do we think?
The Mali or Spain international call up saga certainly is a strange one (via The Sun), with the news last week suggesting he had changed nationalities only to be called up to the Spain squad has left some puzzled.
However, should the 23-year-old have sustained an injury, Nuno Espirito Santo will be hoping for a full and fast recovery.
