According to The Guardian, Nicolas Gaitan could be making his way to the Premier League, with West Ham United being one of the rumoured destinations along with Aston Villa and Sheffield United.
Gaitan is 31-years-old and is currently playing for Chicago Fire in the MLS. He’s played a total of 27 games this season, scoring four times and assisting on 11 occasions. Despite these impressive stats, many of the West Ham fans weren’t happy with the news, believing that the Hammers don’t need another winger.
However, these fans may not realise that the 31-year-old has mainly played in the centre-attacking-midfielder role this season, not out on the wings.
West Ham are interested in signing Nicolas Gaitan in January. The Argentine winger has been playing for Chicago Fire in MLS.

Why!! ANOTHER bargain bin buy

One fan suggested using Nathan Holland or recalling Grady Diangana instead of spending the wages on the Argentine.
We don’t need to sign him. We have Holland and bring back Diangana

We’re not going to be buying players in their 30’s anymore at the end of their careers.

What Do We Think?
Gaitan has had a good MLS season, creating a lot of assists and bagging a couple of goals, but it’s very hard to tell how he would adapt to the Premier League. Especially given the situation at West Ham, they need someone who will definitely make a positive impact on the team, which we are not sure the 31-year-old can offer, whilst they, arguably, have bigger concerns to address than adding another winger to the fold.
