One thing Manuel Pellegrini and Mauricio Pochettino have in common is that both managers are experiencing a difficult time at their respective clubs. The Hammers are without a win in their last five Premier League fixtures and currently occupy 16th place.  Tottenham Hotspur are just two points better off in 14th position and are experiencing a crisis of their own.

Both managers’ positions are said to be hanging by a thread but the West Ham supporters are more confident of Pochettino keeping his job than they are of Pellegrini turning things around – a sign of the deflation amongst the clubs fan-base.

What do we think?

Given what Pochettino has achieved with Spurs to date, most-notably reaching a Champions League final, it’s highly unlikely he will be sacked mid-season. There is a strong-case to suggest that his time at the club is approaching it’s end but he certainly has enough credit in the bank to be allowed to move on amicably.

Pellegrini however, doesn’t have anywhere near as much affection or loyalty from his clubs supporters with many of them already calling for him to be sacked. Although most of the responses to the above tweet were meant in jest and with a slight hint of sarcasm their overall assessment of the situation is probably quite accurate.
