Spurs fans were less than happy to hear that one of the club’s brightest young prospects, Troy Parrott, is attracting interest from German giants Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.
According to the Daily Mail (via RickySacks), the 17-year-old is being seriously coveted by some of Europe’s elite clubs despite the youngster having yet to make his Premier League debut. Parrott’s performances with the Under-23s, most notably his four-goal haul in the UEFA Youth League, impressed Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy and he was able to make his senior international debut earlier this month.
Unsurprisingly, Parrott is having to play second-fiddle to Harry Kane at Spurs and may consider a move to Germany to kick-start his career. The 17-year-old is tipped for a big future at Spurs but has only appeared once for the senior side so far this season; in the Carabao Cup defeat to Colchester earlier in the season.
Reaction from Spurs fans to the news that Parrott is being targeted by some big European clubs can be seen in the tweets below.
He is a keeper. Sign him up 6 year deal

Stopping this should be one of the clubs top priorities, it will be very tempting for him seeing how much Sancho has progressed

Once Jose gets the players sorted and system implemented, it would be good to get Parrott some more first team minutes.

I sincerely hope not

Suddenly I’m not worried. If Troy thinks there is a better future for him elsewhere than under Jose at Spurs, then let him go. There isn’t

Could follow Poch to Munich

Spurs fans are clearly not keen to see Parrott leave the club anytime soon and will be hoping that Mourinho can ensure that the 17-year-old striker stays put.
What do we think?
Parrott has been in inspired form for the Under-23 squad so far this season and it will be interesting to see if he gets more game-time under Jose Mourinho. Spurs seem to be in desperate need of a back-up striker to give Kane some rest and Parrott will want to be that man, although he may take inspiration from Jadon Sancho who has established himself as a top-quality winger since making the move to Dortmund in 2017.
