Giovani Lo Celso left Spurs to go on international duty with Argentina this week and when the midfielder posted a picture with Juventus star Paulo Dybala, there was only one thing on Spurs fans’ minds.
Dybala was heavily linked with a move to Spurs over the summer but a deal fell through over a reported issue with Dybala’s image rights. The 26-year-old has enjoyed an excellent start to the season for Juventus; averaging a 7.03 rating for Maurizio Sarri’s side, as well as producing five goals and two assists.
Spurs fans are now seriously wishing that they could have got a deal done for the Argentina forward.
Lo Celso joined Spurs on loan from Real Betis in the summer and now Spurs fans are hoping that the 23-year-old can work as an agent after he posted (via HotspurRelated) a photo of himself with Dybala.
Spurs’ chances of signing the former Palermo man might have suffered with him establishing a more regular place in the Juventus side this season, but Spurs fans are still hopeful that, with Lo Celso’s help, a deal can still be arranged.
Reaction from Spurs fans to Lo Celso’s picture with Dybala can be seen in the tweets below:

I would be very happy if this guy joins, but i fear he will be very important in Sarri’s line ups now that Huguain and Ronaldo are aging

Smuggle him in your suitcase Gio.

Spurs fans are clearly hoping that Lo Celso can help convince Dybala to sign for Spurs in January, but it seems as if any chances of him joining may have died in summer.
What do we think?
Dybala is currently valued at £67.5 million (Transfermarkt), which would mean that Spurs may have to break their transfer record if they were to pursue him. If we see the likes of Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld leave the club in January ahead of their contract expiry next summer, then perhaps the funds could be raised.
