Mario Mandzukic has been regularly linked with Manchester United in recent transfer windows but it seems as if Spurs are now admirers of the Croatian striker and may make a move for him in January.
According to Calcio Mercato (via RickySacks), Juventus’ sporting director Fabio Paratici has travelled to London with the hopes of arranging a January transfer for Mandzukic and Spurs are one of the clubs interested.
The 33-year-old striker has struggled for game-time since Cristiano Ronaldo joined the Italian giants and may be keen on a move to the Premier League.
The former Atletico Madrid man is yet to feature for Juventus in a competitive game so far this season and could provide Spurs with experienced back-up to Harry Kane should he join in the upcoming transfer window. Mandzukic has 44 goals for the Old Lady but he has been unable to force his way into Maurizio Sarri’s plans this season, so a move away in January looks likely.

I like Mandzukic and all but I’d rather them focus on Dybala if that is still realistic. Otherwise use Parrot.

Yes of course
Mandzukic brings years of experience into the team and he has a winning mentality only few players have.
Not to mention his natural fitness is brilliant and is far better than Llorente.

These tweets clearly show that most Spurs fans feel that they would be better off without Mandzukic and feel they should look to Troy Parrott as Harry Kane’s back-up.
What do we think?
Mandzukic would bring a wealth of experience to Spurs’ squad and would presumably come cheap; with the 33-year-old currently valued at £9 million by Transfermarkt. With Mauricio Pochettinos’s side currently struggling in the league, Mandzukic could be the ideal signing as he would offer a reliable target-man for Spurs to use either in tandem with Kane or as a replacement for the England captain.
Indeed, he could occupy a similar role to former Spurs man Fernando Llorente.
