Christian Eriksen looks unlikely to be a Spurs player for much longer and fans seem relieved to hear that the 27-year-old has reportedly agreed terms with Real Madrid.
According to Spanish outlet El Desmarque (via HotspurRelated), the midfielder has agreed personal terms with Los Blancos and will become their first summer signing when his contract expires in the summer. It could be the end of a long transfer and contract saga involving Eriksen after the Danish international confirmed his desire to leave the club following the Champions League final defeat in May.
The 27-year-old originally joined Spurs from Ajax in 2013 and has gone on to make 293 appearances in his six years at the club. Former manager Mauricio Pochettino had planned to sell Eriksen over the summer, but it now appears that Spurs will lose the creative midfielder on a free transfer.

As much as he has contributed to us, we must torture this snake by dropping him from this week onwards. Deprive him of game time and when he arrives in Madrid he’ll flop like Hazard.

The club should have sold him earlier. I don’t know why they were stubborn on him.

Spurs fans are clearly not forgiving of Eriksen, with the majority not wanting him anywhere near the first-team squad for the rest of his Spurs career.
What do we think?
If Real Madrid can sign Eriksen on a free transfer then it will be a great signing for them, although it is unlikely that Mourinho will completely drop the Danish international even if he has committed his future to the Spanish giants.
The 27-year-old came off the bench and changed the game against Olympiakos in midweek so he has shown his worth to the first-team already under Mourinho.
