Spurs fans are hoping that Tanguy Ndombele can get his first start under new boss Jose Mourinho this weekend, with the club-record signing having missed out on the first two games due to a minor injury.
In a press conference, Mourinho confirmed (via Football.London) that he was a big fan of both Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso, saying: “They are both very good buys by the club, it’s not that they have to earn my trust, they are just continuing to adapt to English football and will play for Spurs”.
The French midfielder has been struggling with an injury since coming off at half-time against Sheffield United earlier in November but will be hoping to make his first start under the new manager against Bournemouth today.
Ndombele joined Spurs from Lyon over the summer but looks to have struggled to adapt to the pace of the Premier League, although he has impressed with his performances in the Champions League; averaging a 7.46 rating.
The 22-year-old has started just seven games in the Premier League so far this season, so he may not be trusted by Mourinho to start against the Cherries as he continues to adapt.

Nah. Preferably he should be starting Ndombele over dier, but José knows best that’s why he’s such a winner and we’re 2 in 2.

Spurs fans are clearly hoping to see Ndombele start against Bournemouth but remain worried that Mourinho may continue to bench the 22-year-old midfielder.
What do we think?
Ndombele is clearly a talented player but Mourinho is right in saying that he still needs time to adapt, especially with the Frenchman admitting his own problems with fatigue earlier this month. He will probably be forced to impress Mourinho from the bench for now, until he can prove his fitness has improved.
