Two Spurs players who are yet to feature under Jose Mourinho are Giovani Lo Celso and Juan Foyth and many Spurs fans are hoping to see more of them after they discussed the new manager’s tactics in an interview.

The Argentinian duo discussed Mourinho’s tactics in an interview with Daily Football (via LastWordonSpurs), saying that “it will take time for the team to take on board his new ideas.” Neither player has featured in Mourinho’s first two games in charge, with several fans worried that they may not feature as much as they did under former manager Mauricio Pochettino, who obviously shared an Argentinian connection with the two.

Lo Celso joined Spurs on loan from Real Betis in the summer but has been limited to just two starts for the North London side after a hip injury suffered on international duty kept him out of much of the early season. Foyth has also found game-time hard to come by since joining from Estudiantes in 2017; with just 29 Spurs appearances to his name, which includes just 127 minutes of football this season.

Do Foyth and Lo Celso deserve more game time?

Reaction from Spurs fans to the video of Lo Celso and Foyth can be seen in the tweets below.

One fan even stated that Foyth and Lo Celso could be like Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne, which relates to them both being dismissed by Chelsea and then have gone on to establish themselves as arguably two of the best in world football in their respective positions.

These Spurs fans are clearly concerned that Mourinho may waste the talent of Lo Celso and Foyth so will be hoping to see a lot more of the duo in upcoming games.

What do we think?

Mourinho is only two games into his tenure as Spurs manager so it seems very premature from fans to write off Lo Celso and Foyth’s chances under the new boss so early. However, with Spurs having the option to buy Lo Celso at the end of the season, it will be interesting to see whether he takes up that option or decides to bring in his own player. There is plenty of time for both Lo Celso and Foyth to make an impression yet.
