Spurs fans took to Twitter to react to the news that Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac had been sacked yesterday, with many hoping that the Croatian manager might make the move to the Premier League club.

Kovac, who managed Bayern to an extremely impressive 7-2 win over Spurs in the Champions League last month, was sacked following a 5-1 defeat by Eintracht Frankfurt; which leaves Bayern fourth in the Bundesliga. With Spurs also struggling in the league, a lot of fans would welcome the 48-year-old to North London, with the hope that he could replace current boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Spurs’ draw with Everton yesterday leaves them 11th in the league and without an away league win since January.

Kovac could be an ideal replacement for the former Southampton boss, with many Spurs fans having already witnessed the superb level of football his sides are capable of playing.

Some of the thoughts of Spurs fans on Kovac can be seen in the tweets below.

These tweets clearly show that a lot of Spurs fans are keen to see Kovac at their club in the near future.

What do we think?

Bayern’s sacking of Kovac seems very premature as the Croatian manager had won 45 of his 65 games in charge there since taking up the role in July 2018. Kovac joined from Eintracht Frankfurt and it seems his old club was his ultimate undoing at Bayern, with the board making the decision following their 5-1 thrashing at the weekend.

However, Bayern are only four points off current leaders Borussia Monchengladbach with only 10 games having been played, so it does seem slightly harsh from that aspect.
