Spurs fans were delighted as their young star Troy Parrott made his international debut for the Republic of Ireland last night and after the 17-year-old grabbed an assist, many fans feel he is ready to make his mark in the Premier League.
Parrott showed great strength to win the ball back before playing the ball to strike partner Sean Maguire to fire home and put Mick McCarthy’s side in front against New Zealand. It was the Spurs striker’s first senior appearance for Republic of Ireland after he impressed in the youth teams; scoring twice in a win over Sweden u’21s in September.
The Spurs man made headlines when he hit four goals against Red Star Belgrade in the UEFA Youth League, but he is yet to make his Premier League debut. His first senior appearance for Spurs came against Colchester in the Carabao Cup defeat earlier in the season and it appears as if fans want to see more of the Irish international.
Reaction from Spurs fans to Parrott’s international debut and assist can be seen in the tweets below.

Spurs fans were clearly delighted to see Parrott make an impact on his international debut and will be hoping to see the youngster feature more in the first-team throughout the season.
What do we think?
Spurs are being linked with Mario Mandzukic as a back-up to Harry Kane in January, yet it seems as if they already have the answer in Troy Parrott. The youngster has seven goals in five games for Spurs so far this season and is clearly doing his best to force his way into Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team plans.
