Spurs fans were extremely saddened to hear that, following his sacking on Tuesday night, Mauricio Pochettino was reportedly unable to wish his former players goodbye.

According to The Sun (via HotspurRelated) Pochettino’s dismissal on Tuesday was so sudden that the Argentinian was unable to properly say farewell to his squad. Instead, he reportedly left a note saying: “Sorry we cannot come to say goodbye, you are always in our hearts.”

Of course, Pochettino built a proud legacy during his time in North London. He took the club on an incredible Champions League run that ultimately ended with defeat in the final, as well as developing many young players, including the likes of Harry Winks and Dele Alli.

Understandably, Spurs fans were rather angry and emotional after catching wind of the report.

Spurs fans were clearly upset after the news regarding Pochettino’s exit and were unhappy with the way that Daniel Levy handled the sacking. Indeed, it appears as if this isn’t the only negative to take from Levy and Pochettino’s relationship, as the Daily Mail have reported that Levy refused to pay £80,000 for training pitch cameras, which were suggested by Pochettino, so there certainly seems to have been a disconnection.

What do we think?

If this is true then it is a real shame as the least the South American deserved was to say goodbye to the players after his brilliant time at the club; winning 160 of his 293 games in charge over his five years there.

It surely won’t be long until the 47-year-old is back in management at another club, but until then, Spurs fans may miss seeing the Argentinian on the side of the pitch.
