Jose Mourinho oversaw his first training session as the new Spurs boss on Wednesday afternoon and it seems as if a lot of fans are impressed by what they saw.
Mourinho was appointed as the new manager of the North London club on Wednesday following Mauricio Pochettino’s dismissal the previous evening and while a lot of fans seem unsure about the Portuguese boss, the video posted by the club on Twitter seems to have gone some way in winning fans over.
The 56-year-old has been out of management since being sacked by Manchester United in December 2018 and it seems as if the break has done him some good, with the video showing Mourinho in a very positive mood as he meets up with his new players for the first time.
The video shows Mourinho speaking closely with Dele Alli and Eric Dier, with a lot of fans excited about Mourinho’s impact on the two players’ careers; with both having yet to really make an impact so far this season.
Reaction from Spurs fans to the video of Mourinho’s first training session can be seen in the tweets below.
Imagine being Poch watching this.
Seeing Dele relaxed and sharing a moment with Jose. Watching your replacement delicately stroking Dier’s hair and affectionately squeezing Kane’s shoulder.

Love the way he interacts with Sissoko, Moura, Lo Celso, Dele, Dier and Kane like he knows them for ages and you can also sense a mutual trust, unity and respect amongst the players and coaches.

These tweets show a rather mixed response, with some reacting positively and others seemingly worried.
What do we think?
It’s possible that Mourinho’s apparent new style of coaching was just for the cameras but it does seem like he is already invested in the players and fans should be excited about the impact he could have on certain player’s performances. The Portuguese boss has his doubters but there is no denying that he is a serial winner and has the ability to turn this nightmare start to the season for Spurs into one to remember.
