Spurs may look to bring in veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic after it was revealed that Jose Mourinho has called the former Manchester United striker about a January move.

According to Italian outlet La Republicca (via Sport Witness), the 56-year-old has approached the 38-year-old striker about a potential return to the Premier League. The Swedish forward is without a club after leaving LA Galaxy in November; with whom he scored an extremely impressive 53 goals in 58 games.

Ibrahimovic is well-known by Premier League fans for his time with Manchester United between 2016 and 2018, scoring 17 goals in 33 appearances, and could be set to reunite with his former manager at Spurs.

TIF Tactics:

Spurs are currently very reliant on Kane, with the England striker having hit 10 goals in all competitions for Spurs so far this season. Although he is available on a free transfer, Ibrahimovic would no doubt demand a hefty wage at Spurs, so it will be interesting to see if Levy and Mourinho can negotiate a deal for the legendary striker.

He would certainly bring a personality to the Spurs dressing room and could prove to be an excellent option off the bench for Mourinho, with Harry Kane currently the only striker at the club, other than Troy Parrott.

Ibrahimovic’s goal-record speaks for itself, with 358 club goals to his name, and perhaps he would welcome a return to the Champions League after well and truly proving himself far too good for the MLS.

His relationship with Mourinho will obviously be key in any potential deal.
