Spurs fans were greeted to the news that the club may move for Giovani Lo Celso in January on a permanent transfer, instead of waiting until the summer to buy the 23-year-old midfielder and it seems as if a lot of fans are excited.
According to Mundo Deportivo (via RickySacks), the North London club could move for Lo Celso in January at a cut-price; expecting to pay only €32 million (£27.3 million) instead of the previously agreed €40 million (£34.1 million) with Real Betis.
The Argentine joined on a loan deal from the Spanish side in the summer; with an option to buy the midfielder at the end of the season, but it now seems as if Mauricio Pochettino’s side will seek to bring him in permanently in the upcoming January transfer window.
Lo Celso missed a lot of the early season due to a hip injury suffered on international duty and only recently made his first start for the club; scoring in a 4-0 win over Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.
Reaction from Spurs fans to the possible permanent transfer of Lo Celso in January can be seen in the tweets below.

Please do it Levy. Good starting point for the January Transfer Window. @celso_giovanni is a truly wonderful footballer, and has that family temperament which is a perfect @SpursOfficial

Don Levy at it again

Spurs fans are clearly delighted with the news of Lo Celso’s possible permanent arrival after the Argentinian’s impressive start under Pochettino.
Daniel Levy has secured the likes of Heung-Min Son, Toby Alderweireld, Lucas Moura, Kieran Trippier and Dele Alli all for less than £30 million each in years gone by, so fans are clearly urging him to secure his next bargain.
What do we think?
Lo Celso looked sharp in the 4-0 win against Red Star earlier in the month and looks set to nail down a starting place in Pochettino’s side this season. It is no shock that Spurs want to get a deal done for Lo Celso now considering their current position in the league and Christian Eriksen’s contract set to run out this summer, with a ready-made replacement now seemingly sorted.
