Some Nottingham Forest are hating the idea of losing key player Matty Cash to Premier League side Everton.

The Sun (via Nottingham Post) say that Cash is a target for Marco Silva’s Everton, who have already watched him multiple times over the course of the current Championship season.

The report also brings out interest from both Southampton and Crystal Palace and claims that Cash is currently valued at £12million by Sabri Lamouchi’s men. An offer can come Forest’s way in the upcoming January transfer window.

On hearing this piece of news, Forest fans are hating the prospect of losing an important player of theirs.

22-year-old Cash has been one Forest’s most important players this season. The right-back has played 14 times in the Championship this season, racking up a tally of two goals and two assists so far. The Englishman has also played three games in the League Cup.

WhoScored says that Cash has been the most important player for the Reds this season, as he boasts of a rating of 7.27. Along with Joe Lolley, he also has the highest number of assists this season for the club, standing at 2.

Not just attacking wise, Cash has also won the second-highest number of tackles per game and has also made the third-highest interceptions per game for the side from City Ground.

Some fans though, are happy with the sale but want a similar or higher fee.

Cash joined Forest from the FAB Academy in 2014 and spent two years at the youth academy at the City Ground, before breaking into the first team in 2016.

What do we think?

Cash’s numbers clearly show that he has been immense for Forest this season and he will be very important if the club has to challenge for promotion this term. The club is clearly in a position to go into the Premier League but if they want to do that, they will have to retain their best players till the end of the campaign.

If Everton do want Cash, Forest could get him on loan till the end of the season but agree to a transfer in January itself.
