Some Manchester United fans are now demanding for Marcos Rojo to start for the club in the Premier League.

The Argentine defender started for the Red Devils in their 3-0 win over Partizan Belgrade last night. Goals from Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood saw United qualify for the knockout stages of the competition.

Rojo has played all four of United’s Europa League games and has also played twice in the Premier League. He started the club’s game against Liverpool at Old Trafford.

A lot of United fans have been impressed by his performances recently and they want him to start over Victor Lindelof.

Lindelof was injured for the game against Partizan and that is why Rojo stepped in, having kept a clean sheet in all of the club’s last four Europa League games.

Rojo joined United from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2014 under the tutelage of Louis van Gaal. Since arriving, the Argentine has played 121 times in all competitions for the Old Trafford club. During this time, he has scored twice, assisting four times.

Rojo has played the last two FIFA World Cups for the Argentine national side. He helped the nation reach the final of the competition in 2014, but they got knocked out in the Round of 16 in last year’s edition.

Some United fans are in love with Rojo.

Against Partizan, Rojo won two aerial duels. He completed a single dribble. He also completed 95 per cent of his passes.

What do we think?

With Lindelof and Axel Tuanzebe currently out injured, Rojo should be United’s first-choice defender for now. He did well against Partizan, playing alongside Harry Maguire. With a game against Brighton and Hove Albion coming up, the Argentine should start.
