Some Manchester United fans feel that the club has a new fans’ favourite in young left-back Brandon Williams.
Williams made his first Premier League start for United in their 3-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday and the young Englishman even won the club’s Man of the Match away for the performance at Old Trafford.
Before the performance against Brighton, Williams had made two appearances from the bench for United. He had started United’s League Cup game against Chelsea and had made two Europa League appearances too.
Some United fans are already hailing the left-back and feel that they have a new fans’ favourite in Williams himself.

Future. Can’t wait to see him on my tv for years to come

He will make mistakes in the future for sure, but please keep playing him at LB. Don’t play Young at LB ever again. No disrespect to Young, he has been a great servant but in between Shaw’s injuries & Young’s ineffectiveness, Williams could be a great player for us.

Please let him replace luke Shaw.

He is far better than Young

The 19-year-old made his debut for the club earlier this season but has also played for the Reserves side too. In the Premier League 2, Williams has played five games. But he has racked up an impressive tally of four assists too.
Last season, he was a regular for the club’s Under-18s side. He played 16 games for them, scoring three and assisting just as many times (TransferMarkt). He also featured regularly in the UEFA Youth League, assisting two times.
The young left-back won as many as four tackles against Brighton, completing one dribble in the game. He also played one key pass against Graham Potter’s men.
What do we think?
Williams has shown that he is a first-team player already under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He already appears to have racked up more praise than Ashley Young, who isn’t getting any younger with every passing day.
His performance against Brighton should have done enough to warrant him a first-team spot in United’s next Premier League game away to Sheffield United.
