Some Manchester United fans are fuming at an embarrassing stat about the club’s midfielder Jesse Lingard.
The Englishman has played eight times in the Premier League so far this season, failing to score or assist even once. He has also played three times in the UEFA Europa League, although he hasn’t been directly involved in any of the goals.
Lingard was also dropped from the England national team recently and his last appearance for the Three Lions came in their penalty shoot-outs win over Switzerland in the third-place play-off of the UEFA Nations League.
A shocking stat that emerged on social media stated that Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster has had more shots on target than Lingard.

Some United fans are fuming and they believe that this is the worst stat to have ever been associated with the player.
Embarrassing. This shud be shared with him so he can see how poorly we think of him. #championship teams wouldn’t have him

Lingard’s last goal for United came during the very early phase of the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer era. He scored twice in United’s 5-1 win over Cardiff City in the Norwegian’s first game in charge at the club.
He has not assisted for United since late-January when he helped the Red Devils pick up a 2-2 draw at home to Burnley despite finding themselves 2-0 down late in the game.
Fans continued to mock the 26-year-old and his poor showings in recent months. They mocked the fact that he is still seen as a younger player.
Bro he’s still a young player there’s plenty of time for him to reach that untapped potential

Since making his debut for United, Lingard has played a total of 180 times in all competitions for the Red Devils. He has scored 29 times, assisting 19 times in total.
For the England national team, the attacking midfielder has played 24 times in total, scoring four times.
What do we think?
Numbers don’t lie. Lingard has done nothing to warrant a first-team place with his recent performances. But as United are without a proper attacking midfielder, Lingard is the only one they can rely on to pull a rabbit out of the hat. That situation needs rectifying and quickly.
