Some Manchester United fans are clearly disgusted at their club’s links with Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha, who is a former Red Devils’ player.

Zaha, 27, has played 12 times in the Premier League for Roy Hodgson’s Palace side, but he has failed to score even once this term. But the former United man does have one assist to his name this season.

Fresh reports from the Sun claim that United are looking to bring the winger back to Old Trafford and are ready to offer Palace around £70million for the player.

United fans are furious about these links and want their club to stay away from the player.

Zaha joined United in the January of 2013 under Sir Alex Ferguson but arrived in the club’s first-team in the summer of 2013. But he failed to break into the club’s first-team under David Moyes. He was loaned out to Cardiff City in the winter of 2014, where he played under current United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

After an initial loan spell back at Palace, Zaha joined his former club permanently in the winter of 2015.

Since returning to Selhurst Park, Zaha has featured 175 times for the club. He has scored 32 times in the Premier League for them, also racking up a tally of 35 assists on the way.

Some fans believe that news like this usually comes up during the international break.

The last time Zaha scored a league goal for Palace was at the end of last season in a 3-2 win over his former club Cardiff.

What do we think?

Zaha isn’t the sort of player United need. They already have two players at the club who are in the same mould as Zaha, in the shape of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial. The priority for United should be spending big money on an attacking midfielder and a striker and stay away from making luxury signings like Zaha.
