Some Manchester United fans are begging for Paul Pogba to not return to the pitch for the club as the Frenchman has had the cast from his leg removed.

Pogba has not featured for United in the last five Premier League games and the last time he played for the club was in their 1-1 draw against Arsenal at Old Trafford last month.

Even before the draw against the Gunners, Pogba had missed United’s games against Leicester City and West Ham due to some ankle issues.

Recently, the former Juventus man posted a video on social media (via United Xtra) which showed him having the cast from his ankle removed. But some United fans don’t like the idea of possibly having Pogba back on the pitch for their club.

Pogba rejoined United in the summer of 2016 under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho. Since arriving back at Old Trafford, the midfielder has played 148 times in all competitions for the Red Devils. He has scored 31 times, racking up a tally of 31 assists too.

Last season, Pogba had played 35 games in the Premier League for United. He scored 13 times and came up as many as nine assists too.

The summer transfer window saw Pogba get linked with a move to Juve and with a move to Real Madrid. He himself talked publicly about looking for a ‘new challenge‘ and his agent Mino Raiola also revealed that his client was in the process of leaving Old Trafford for the second time in his career.

Some other United fans also felt that Pogba should leave United.

United’s recent 3-1 win over Brighton saw Andreas Pereira score his first goal of the season for United. Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford got the other two goals, helping Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men climb up to fourth in the Premier League table.

After the international break, United face a stiff trip to high-flying Sheffield United.

What do we think?

Pogba is still immensely crucial for United. He has played the highest number of key passes per game for the club, at an average of 2.6 per game. He has already assisted twice, despite having played only twice so far. The former Bianconeri man has also completed the third-highest number of dribbles per game for the Red Devils, with1.6 to his name so far.

The creativity he will bring to the table should help Solskjaer’s side score more goals than they are currently.
