Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed that Sergio Aguero will miss “a few games” with a tendon problem.

As a result, the Argentine looks likely to miss the Manchester derby on December 7th. Aguero picked up the injury during the victory over Frank Lampard’s Chelsea on Saturday evening and the fans have taken to social media to react to the news.

The injury is likely to see Gabriel Jesus or Raheem Sterling tasked with leading the line in the coming weeks.

What do we think?

If there is one team in the Premier League with enough talent to cover for a striker as good as Aguero it is Manchester City. Not only is Gabriel Jesus waiting in the wings desperate for an opportunity to show what he can do over a run of games, but the likes of Raheem Sterling can also deputise if required.

Aguero joined the Citizens back in 2011 from Atletico Madrid and has scored an incredible 244 goals in 354 appearances making him the clubs greatest ever goalscorer by quite some distance. His absence will no doubt be felt but dealing with injuries has been nothing new for City this season who have had to contend with the long-term absences of some key players.
