Manchester City have reportedly joined the race to sign Amad Diallo Traore. The 17-year-old winger who made his name in the Atalanta youth team last season is said to be attracting the interest of Juventus but it seems they could now face competition from the Manchester club.

Calciomercato claims Pep Guardiola’s are set to ‘challenge’ the Serie A champions complicating matters for the Turin based giants. Traore’s performances in the Italian youth championship have put the player on the map but it’s said City’s interest originates from his impressive performances against them in the UEFA youth league matches between themselves and Atalanta this season.

Juventus’ sporting director Fabio Paratici is said to have already made contact with the La Dea chiefs and therefore the ball is in Manchester City’s court if they wish to progress their interest in the player to something of greater substance.

Traore is known for his agility, acceleration and dynamism but that shouldn’t detract from his technical ability when in possession (World Football Scouting). The left-footed wide man has a good passing range and excellent vision.

His ability to glide past players and trademark step overs make him extremely difficult to dispossess. Despite not having a particularly large frame Traore is extremely strong in possession and has almost perfected the art of protecting the ball.

A player for the future no doubt and one Europe’s elite clubs will be keeping tabs on. The Ivorian made his first-team debut for Atalanta in the Serie A fixture versus Udinese last month and you can expect to see more of him throughout the remainder of the season.
